Northwest Consolidated Fire District Staffing consists of 1 Chief overseeing the entire department with all other members being divided into 3 shifts. Each shift consists of a Battalion Chief who oversees daily activities across the district, 2 Captains who oversees activities within each station, and 7 firefighters. One of the firefighters fills the role of the officer at the station that does not have a Captain. Each shift has a minimum staffing of 7 personnel. Shifts work a 24 hour shift rotating over 9 days (24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 96 off). There are 5 part-time firefighters who fill as needed so the district can achieve minimum staffing 100% of the time.
